Paddle-out event for Chris

There is a Chris Walton “Paddle-out” this Friday 28th Dec 2012  at 5.30am sharp at Currumbin Alley for anyone who wants to honour Chris in this farewell surfing ritual.

We will meet around the main shelter in the car park of the Alley and please try to be there on time as we want to try and beat the crowds. Bring flowers if you would like, to take on the board. It would be appreciated if those with extra boards bring them as well just incase we have someone who hasn’t got a stick.

The swell forecast is small and the tide will be on the rise so it should be perfect conditions for the paddle out.

Please forward this to anyone you know who’d like to be a part of this sacred ritual.

Looking forward to seeing you all there. Loving thoughts Alan M.

Disconnecting from the mains water supply

Disconnecting from the mains water supply

Ron Clarke got a bit wet cutting the water pipe with an axe, but it was memorable and definitely worth it! Chris would certainly take opportunities to play the ‘larrikin’ and this one worked out nicely.
The ecovillage uses no town water, as it captures sufficient rain water for all household purposes.

The terrible news

Chris J. Walton was tragically killed in a building accident, by an awning that fell down, outside a shop in Burleigh Heads on 23 December 2012. He first managed to help save two bystanders, which is not out of character for a man who was selfless, spontaneous and courageous. Chris will be remembered for spark, kindness and valour.
